Many countries have promulgated new laws, which may promote the rapid development of the recyclable disposable tableware industry
On April 9, 2022, Spain’s Law on Waste and Contaminated Soils Applicable to the Circular Economy officially entered into force in the National Official Gazette (BOE), with the applicable date from January 1, 2023, Euronews reported. According to the report, new taxes were born immediately after the new law came into effect. One is the tax on non-reusable plastic containers, which aims to promote “circular economy and realize waste recycling and reuse”.
At the same time, on April 20, the California Recycling and Plastic Pollution Reduction Act proposal will be voted on in November 2022. The bill requires that, by 2030, all single-use plastic packaging and food utensils used in California be recyclable, reusable, refillable, and fertiliser, and that single-use plastic production be reduced to 25%.
All of this pushes single-use recyclable cutlery to a higher level. Compared with traditional disposable plastic tableware, it does not contain toxic substances such as foaming agents, and will not cause harm to the human body of precipitation of plastic particles. Among them, the fluorine-free series products are non-toxic and harmless, eliminating the risk of cancer caused by fluoride.
At the same time, the production process of recyclable disposable tableware no longer poses a threat to the earth’s ozone layer, and can decompose and compost by itself in the soil, which is really a good way to face the increasingly severe environmental crisis.
More and more countries will introduce environmental protection laws to protect our natural environment. Disposable tableware that is recyclable, reusable, refillable, and fattenable will be a beacon that guides the catering industry to keep pace with the times.
